What makes us unique...

Beyond being a father-daughter team, Doghouse D+1 brings a blend of Classic and Modern Country, Rock, Pop, and Americana to the stage. We also offer a unique perspective, exploring the artistic world of the blind and visually impaired through our music. And, we're one of the few music acts that includes a guide dog as a valued "band member".

Our story

T.J. shares, "Mine is a lifelong journey into writing, performing, and playing music. Our family is five generations from Hawaii, and I started very young playing Ukulele and Guitar. In my early twenties, I learned to play 5-String Banjo, and I also began my journey with the instrument I love the most, Pedal Steel Guitar. My daughter, Hope, has been singing since she could walk and learned to play Bass in her early 20's. Our collaboration began shortly thereafter, and we have been writing, singing, and playing music together ever since."
