Our journey, our bond

Discover the unique story behind Doghouse D+1.

T..J. says... "Hope and I attended the University of Maine at Orono together for eight years throughout the early 2000's . We each earned two Bachelor's Degrees; Hope's in Modern Languages and Secondary Education, and mine in Psychology and K-8 Education. Attending U.M.O. together created a unique kind of equality, especially when we had the same classes. We became less father and daughter and more friends and peers, a bond that continues to inspire our original music and content.

The Reason We Do This...

Scott Grindle is a dear friend of  ours and a talented Piano player in his own right. He has been blind since birth and has faced numerous other medical challenges. ...He sent this text to Hope  June 4th, 2026 at 4:47 A.M. after getting an advanced copy of "Turn A Blind Eye"

"Scott Grindle , Hey Pal, I sent myself an e-mail, as I said, with, “Turn A Blind Eye,” and I listen to it when I wake up every morning. I wish that song had been available back in 2001, when I lost my hearing in one ear, or during 2020, during COVID. Those were horrible times, when I needed an inspirational song like that. That song is a true inspiration in my opinion, so please share that with your dad, and Mark (Oliverius), or whoever you performed that with. Your pal is truly inspired by that. I hope you write more inspirational tunes like that Hope. , 447 AM."
